Merseyside derby: Liverpool vs Everton

The Merseyside derby was long called the "friendly derby" because whole families are split between red and blue. On the pitch it is anything but friendly. And since 2025, Everton's side of it has a brand-new setting.

A derby like no other

Liverpool and Everton come from the same place: Everton played at Anfield before moving out in 1892, and Liverpool FC was created to fill the empty ground. Since then the city has been split in two, often within families.

For more than a century the two grounds faced each other across Stanley Park. Everton left Goodison Park in 2025 for a new stadium on the Bramley-Moore docks, on the Mersey.

Through the home club: members and the Ticket Exchange at Anfield, season ticket holders and members at Everton. Official hospitality is the safest route for a visitor.
