Emirates Stadium guide: Arsenal in London
No city in Europe has as many professional clubs as London. Arsenal and the Emirates are often a visitor's first choice: here's how to get there, how to look for an official ticket, and where to find our guides to London's other clubs.

Getting to London
| Arriving at | To the ground or centre | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Heathrow | Piccadilly line direct to Arsenal station | ≈ 1 h |
| Gatwick, Luton | Thameslink train to the centre (King's Cross St Pancras) | ≈ 30 to 50 min |
| Stansted | Stansted Express to Liverpool Street | ≈ 50 min |
| Eurostar | St Pancras, then the Piccadilly line to Arsenal | ≈ 15 min |
Before you go: most overseas visitors, including EU and Swiss citizens, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK, from the official gov.uk site.
From the centre to the ground
The Emirates is in Islington, north of the centre. Several stations are 5 to 15 minutes' walk away:
- Arsenal (Piccadilly line): the closest, but often one-way or closed right after the match for crowd control.
- Highbury & Islington (Victoria line and Overground): the most convenient to head back to the centre.
- Finsbury Park (Victoria and Piccadilly lines): a good alternative on the way back.
- Holloway Road (Piccadilly line): often exit-only on matchdays.
Tap your contactless card at the gates: it's the simplest option, and daily caps apply automatically.
Buying an official ticket
In the Premier League the Emirates is almost always sold out. Nearly every ticket goes through the club:
- Membership: required for most Premier League sales on arsenal.com/tickets. Members who have already bought matches get priority.
- Ticket Exchange: official resale, where season ticket holders put seats back at face value. You need to be a member and check often.
- Domestic cups: often easier and cheaper.
- Hospitality: the safest route for a specific date, but expensive.
Watch out: in the UK, reselling a football ticket without the club's permission is a criminal offence. Avoid unofficial resale sites: cancelled tickets and refusals at the gate are common.
Where to sit
- North Bank: behind the north goal, one of the loudest stands.
- Clock End: behind the south goal, with the clock brought over from Highbury. The away section is in one corner of this stand.
- East and West Stands: the side stands, best view and higher prices.
The ground is well designed: the view is good almost everywhere, even in the upper tier.
